1. Go For a Walk (or 10)
Peebles offers various walking opportunities, from leisurely strolls through the town to more extensive routes along the River Tweed and surrounding areas.

There are several paths around Peebles and the John Buchan Way. You can download a handy guide and route map below.

2. Visit Kailzie Gardens
Kailzie Gardens is a renowned garden and woodland just a mile east of Peebles. With 20 acres of gardens & woodlands laid down by generations of passionate gardeners, it also boasts the popular Courtyard Café, a seasonal shop offering local produce, gifts and plant sales, a children's nature trail and a chance to have a go on the Gardener’s 18 hole putting green, or a game of pétanque.

3. Tour Neidpath Castle
Neidpath is steeped in history. The early castle was founded around 1190, and was burnt to the ground by the English around 1310. Sir William Hay built the present castle in the late 14th century.

Visits are by appointment only, you can contact them via their website below. There is a tour scheduled for the 21st September which you can get tickets for on their website.

4. visit Peebles Library, museum & Gallery
Housed in a historic building dating back to the 16th century, it houses permanent displays and changing exhibitions showcasing the best of the Borders and beyond, ranging from visual arts through textiles to historical interest.

What's On
5. explore Cross Kirk
The gaunt ruins of Cross Kirk are the remains of a religious complex dating back to the 1200s.

An ancient holy site associated with miracles and the grave of a saint, it is claimed a cross and relics of St Nicholas were discovered hidden there in the presence of King Alexander III, and a number of miracles occurred as a result. In response the king founded a priory here.
